werther

Werther, who passed away in January 2001, was one of the most important sires of the modern Hanoverian breed. He was a foundation sire and a versatile producer. The offspring of Werther are performance horses of the highest quality. At present they have earned more than two million Deutschmarks in competitions. The offspring of Werther mostly inherit his powerful type and his exceptional movements. He also passed on excellent rideability and a fantastic temperament. Werther was the sire of 39 licensed sons, five of them are State stallions at the Celle State Stud. In 1992 he was honored as "Hanoverian Stallion of the Year". Werther will be missed greatly.
