Markus Deak

Bred in Hungary, the Hanoverian approved Thoroughbred stallion, Markus Deak xx stems from the stallion line of legendary Northern Dancer xx. Markus Deak xx completed the 1999 stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf, asserting himself into 5th place out of 36 Warmblood contenders with clearly above average scores.

His grandsire was the famous American-bred, British-trained Ile de Bourbon xx who won the 1978 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot. Ile de Bourbon xx was sired by the English Triple Crown Winner, Nijinsky xx, and was out of the French mare, Roseliere xx, whose wins included the Prix de Diane and the 1968 Prix Vermeille. Roseliere xx also produced the leading British filly, Rose Bowl xx, and was a full sister of the stallion, Roselier xx, who according to the London Racing Post was “one of the best sires of steeplechasers of the modern era”.

Markus Deak xx has been a successful sire himself having produced the Trakehner stallion, Carel Deak along with 13 Hanoverian States Premium mares and candidates. Markus Deak xx is also the damsire of Don Darius (Don Frederico) who placed 2nd overall at the 2010 Stallion Performance Test in Adelheidsdorf, and was the Reserve Champion 4 year old Riding Horse Stallions at the 2011 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf.
