Devonport was licensed at the 2015 Hanoverian licensing with great results in all three gaits, and he was consistently good and easy to work. He has a great motion of the hindquarters, is well-balanced and posseses a willingness to learn. He also convinced at his first shows becoming champion of the riding class at Höven with a mark of 9.1. At the traditional show in Elmlohe, he won the riding class as well.  In August 2016, Devonport won the bronze medal at the Hanoverian Championships at Verden and was nominated for the "Bundeschampionat".  Devonport once again proved himself at the 2017 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf by not only winning the qualifier for 4-year-old stallions, but also winning the final with a score of 64.00.  Devonport stunned the judges and received 9s for trot, canter, walk and conformation, and a score of 9.50 for training, and a 18.50 score from the test rider.

Devonport qualified for the Bundeschampion in 2018 with a score of 9.0 at his first showing. Devonport did very well at the selections for the World Breeding Championships for Young Dressage Horses and received an invitation to the final of the Wolrd Championchips in Ermelo, NL where he finished eleventh in the final for five-year-old dressage horses.

Devonport is a son of the famous Dancier who has sired many dressage horses and is a top stallion when it comes to passing on their rideability in Germany. Nearly 30 of his sons are licensed and a lot of stellar sport horses descend from him.  For example, the licensed Harmony's Don Noblesse (Susan Pape) and Dark Dancer both won Grand Prix dressage competitions.

Dam sire Ravallo was the winner of his 100 day stallion performance test with an overall index of 155.43 points. Ravallo has sired, among others, the Grand Prix horses Riverdance (Kathleen Keller) and River Joy, winner of Grand Prix with Ellen Schulten Baumer.

Devonport descends from the dam line of Flirtliese which many sport horses, dressage horses and show jumping horses descend from. His aunt Rawina by Ravallo was successful in medium dressage competitions herself.  Some of the most successful horses of the dam line are Aldebaran by Aperitif (Prix St. Georg), three 1.40 m jumping horses by Löwen As: Lombardo, Navajo and Lester; C'mon Girl by Calvaro; Lagune by Lungau; and La Lopez by Lord Pezi also have competed successfully in 1.40 m jumping shows.
