Stakkato Gold (Archived)

The absolute number one of all German sires in FN's estimated breeding value index. Stakkato Gold means modern jumper breeding in a nutshell since he is a whiz kid in both breeding and sport.

He reached international recognition in shows and as a sire while he was still a young stallion. He was the best jumper stallion at the 2003 Hanoverian licensing in Verden, and he again proved his outstanding talent for jumping at the 30-day stallion performance test in Prussendorf in 2004 where he was awarded the maximum score of 10.0 several times.

In his very first show season in 2005, Stakkato Gold won and placed with the best in classes for young show jumpers up to elementary (L) level. He continued in 2006, again winning or placing near the top up to medium (M) level and qualified for the Bundeschampionate. In 2009, he won the finals of the Youngster Tour in Neumünster under Jan Sprehe and placed at many competitions, e.g. in Dortmund, Nörten-Hardenberg, Assen (Netherlands), Oldenburg and Gera. He is now highly successful in advanced (S***) level.

So far, six sons, Seal, Self Control, Sir Obolensky Z, Solid Gold Z, Stargold and Stalido have been licensed. Sir Obolensky Z was second reserve champion for jumping in Westphalia in 2014 and moved, just like Solid Gold Z in 2013 before, to stud Zangersheide.

Stakkato Gold's offspring can be found winning young show jumper classes, qualifying for the Bundeschampionate, and over 30 of them are winning in advanced (S) level show jumper classes, some internationally.

Stakkato Gold, one of the best jumper-makers worldwide, also presented Stakki who was the "Youngster of the Year" with Jan Sprehe, and Seal who won the Ey Cup in Salzburg with Tobias Meyer. That got Stakkato Gold off to a great start as a sire: In the German FN's 2014 estimated breeding value index, he has a sensational index of 172 points, ranking first among all German stallions.

In 2012, his sire, Stakkato, dominated the FN's estimated breeding value index for show jumpers for the twelfth time in a row. With Eva Bitter in the saddle, Stakkato won the 1998 Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships of Dobrock and the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. In 2003 as well as 2010, the duo took the German Champion title in show jumping in the class for ladies, the 2004 Vice Champion title, and competed successfully for Germany in Nations Cups.

Stakkato Gold's dam, Wertherröschen, took second in the Grand Prix of Morssele (Belgium) under Edwina Alexander (Australia) and has won international ribbons with Billy Tworney (Ireland) in St. Tropez, Monaco and Cannes. His dam's sire Werther, the 1992 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year, is one of the most successful sires nationwide because of his great versatility.

Stakkato Gold's third generation dam Carmen was bred to Sandro Hit which resulted in St.Pr.A. See you, the 2003 Oldenburg State Champion, finalist in the Bundeschampionat, and one of the highest priced horses at the Vechta Elite Auction. In the third generation, you also find the Holstein Landgraf I son, Achill-Libero I H, who won the 1994 show jumping World Cup under Jos Lansink of Belgium.

Calypso II, found in the fourth generation, again adds Holstein lines to the pedigree. He was one of the most significant sires in Germany and his offspring are distinguished by outstanding jumping ability as well as the highest rideability. Stakkato Gold comes from the Wendland jumper family of Alsterröschen (by Agram) and has been classically bred for performance in jumping in every single generation.

The significant Hanoverian dam line 762/S. 311516939 (by Alex-Springborn-Morgenrot III) is also the origin of the stallions Consulting (private stallion Oldenburg), Dirano, Grandom and Lentimus (private stallion Hanover), Dömitz II (Belgium), Dux Z (alias Don Rudolpho; private stallion Hanover, Rhineland, internationally successful under Franke Sloothaak), Gala Star Z (private stallion Hesse) as well as the internationally successful show jumpers Pirol ridden by Peter and Helena Weinberg, Piko ridden by Hauke Schmidt, Pur ridden by Ulf Plate and Santana ridden by Andreas Ripke and Hannah Robertson-Mytilineou of Greece.
