Peter Pan has had International Grand Prix and Nations Cup success, and he has offspring competing in Nations Cups and the Olympic Games.
Peter Pan is a son of the legendary Westphalian progenitor Pilot, by Pilatus. Pilot, with more than thirty offspring performing in the international showjumping ring, is one of the most successful sires of his generation. Celebrities such as PS Priamos (Ludger Beerbaum), Pirol V (Lesley McNaught), Showtime (Nick Skelton) and Pialotta (Rolf-Göran Bengtsson) are all direct Pilot descendants.
Peter Pan was bred in Germany at Paul Schockemöhle’ s successful breeding farm in Lewitz. His dam, Gethsemane, is a product of the classic combination Domino (Domspatz) x Gepard (Gotthard).The line continues back to the Hanoverian mare Soraja II Z (Furioso II x Senat), who has also been used for breeding at the famous Belgian Studfarm Zangersheide.
In 1994, Peter Pan was very impressive during the free jumping at the KWPN stallion selection, where he received his breeding licence. After this, Peter Pan pursued an impressive showjumping career. Under Neal Fearon (IRL) and then Alessia Marioni (ITA) he earned a series of victories in the international arenas up to CSIO5*.
From Peter Pan’s first seasons in the Netherlands several sons were licensed for breeding, including Opan, Obsession and Olivier. Since then, Peter Pan has sired 40 international show jumpers (www.horsetelex.nl), and Grand Prix dressage horses such as Anastasia, Obsession, and Sting. His son, Blauwendraad's O'Brien placed 9th individually in show jumping at the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong under Angelique Hoorn after having won the 2008 Samsung Super League Nations Cup of St. Gallen, and placing 2nd in the 2008 Nations Cups at Aachen and Rotterdam. Peter Pan has sired 6 approved stallions, 26 Ster, 14 Keur, 2 Keur Pref, and 2 Elite mares listed in the KWPN stud books. |
