Monte Bellini
International Success in Sport and Valuable Breeding

He is finally no longer a secret: in his tenth year, the Premium stallion Monte Bellini has found his place in the international league of jumping!

This wonderful stallion won the second round of the 2012 FEI World Cup in s'Hertogenbosch under Philipp Weishaupt with two clear rounds, and ended up 4th overall having just nicked the final element in the last round! Because of their outstanding record, the pair was named to the German Olympic team, but unfortunately, the stallion came down with a fever and could not attend the Games in London.

Monte Bellini's ground covering, uphill canter, his powerful back, his outstanding technique, and bascule paired with impressive speed to the fence all brought him the title of Double Champion at two consecutive German Bundeschampionates where he earned record scores. The speaker for the Bundeschampionate ground jury, Joachim Geilfub commented as Monte Bellini earned an astounding 9.7, “They don’t get much better.”

It was also exactly these qualities that brought him victories and placings in international jumper classes against all of the greats in jumping in Leipzig, Bremen, Paderborn, Vigo, and Bordeaux. In 2010 Montpellier he confirmed himself with his first S5* placing in the 1.50 meter. In 2011, Monte Bellini again showed that he belonged with the top jumpers of the world by competing with Philipp Weishaupt on the German Team at the CSIO 5* Nations Cup of Rome. World famous Otto Becker commented on Monte Bellini, “He debuted here as a newbie at his first Nations Cup very well. Both of the time penalties are absolutely forgivable.” This debut followed a 3rd place finish with Philipp at the Bremer Euroclassics in the 1.55 meter Grossen Preis von Bremen, and a fantastic 2nd place finish in the 1.50 meter Team Jumping for Team Germany I. Especially spectacular was his third place in the 5* advanced (S) level jumping Grand-Prix of Rio de Janeiro, the ninth stage of the Global Champions Tour, which was honoured with a prize-money of 130,000 Euro.

Since his Olympic German Team victory in Athens, Monte Bellini’s sire, Montender, has been unforgettable, and he stands clearly with the best international jumpers having won almost a half a million Euro in sport. Monte Bellini’s dam, Ramira was successful herself in jumping up to M Level in Germany. She is sired by the highly respected stallion, Ramiro, who was successful in the international arena himself, and produced world class horses as if from an assembly line. Monte Bellini’s damline family of Javenda is commanding with Hanoverian top jumper sires like Wendekreis, Wiesenbaum xx, and Ferdinand. This dam line has produced the licensed stallions Grandenstern, Baryschnikov, Donnerbube I, II, and III, Welton, and the successful dressage Grand Prix sire Margue H ridden by Hannes Baumgart, as well as sport horses Le Mans ridden by Markus Beerbaum, Lesotho ridden by Ellen Schulten-Baumer, and Wansuela Suerte ridden by Hubertus Schmidt.

Monte Bellini is just as successful in breeding with already six licensed sons and several state premium mares. According to FN's estimated breeding value statistics he is ranked nationwide with 146 points as jumper sire and a dressage index of 108 points in the top group of sires. He has delivered the sought after Prussendorfer State Stallion, Montario (Damsire Orkan) and Montellini (Damsire Law Society xx) who was recently was 5th place in jumping in his performance test. These positive outcomes are also accompanied by many Premium foals such as the top selling jumper foal at the Vechta Elite Auction (Damsire Cornet Obolensky, Bred by S. Strauss) who sold for 21,000 Euro.
