Mandingo (Archived)

Mandingo has more than 130 ribbons on record in dressage tests up to advanced level. In 1993, under Susanne Meyer, he won the State Championships and placed at the Bundeschampionat. Two of his sons have been licensed, including Mandolito, a Bundeschampionat participant and successful in jumping up to elementary (L) level. Mandingo's son Mogli won silver in 2003 in the Bundeschampionat for riding ponies and took seventh place in 2004. Also among Mandingo's successful off-spring in Warendorf are Glenda, Megabyte and St.Pr.St. Manolita G. His sire, the Anglo Arabian Marquis, has 15 licensed sons that are active in riding pony breeding.  The dam, St.Pr.St. Melsene, also participated in the Bundeschampionat. She is the dam of the licensed stallions Valido's Showman (by Valido) and Viersen K (by Valido's Boy). Brillant, the dam's sire, is deemed one of the most outstanding trademark stallions in the German riding pony breed. Closely related are also the licensed stallions Boytano, Nebelwind and the Reserve Champion stallion, Doc Man. Mandingo continues to be in the top 100 gerrman pony stallions by the amount won by their offspring.
