Lando, Olympic individual silver medalist in Sydney, began his career in Denmark. There, as a youngster he won the stallion performance test in jumping and was placed third overall. The following year he was Reserve-Champion in his age group at the stallion approvals. Later on, in 2000 he was Dutch Champion and in 2001 Stallion of the Year in Denmark. His spectacular rounds at the Olympics are fond memories still today. Lando’s sire, Lancier, a son of the stallion of the century Landgraf. The Dam’s sire Raimondo, likewise from Holstein, descends from one of the most successful show jumping producers “Ramiro” out of a dam by Frivol xx (lineage 730B). Many approved stallions (e.g. Lentigo, Coronino) and sport horses (e.g. Classic Time, Look out) are progeny from this lineage. Lando, an ultra-modern top class show jumper with the required performance format and exceptional jumping blood line. Today ridden by Otto Becker, he is still at the top of his career. Apart from winning the Grand Prix in Donaueschingen and jumping the only double clear in the Nations Cup in Calgary, Canada the pair have won over €200,000 in international competitions. His foals are enchanting through their type and elegance and his first progeny are very impressive in loose jumping. |
