2018 Trakehner Stallion of the Year!
Imperio is a remarkable stallion with consistently good performance at the highest international levels. He has been successful and very active in Grand Prix. In 2018 he had high placings in dressage at the CDI4* Grand Prixs in Hagen, Wiesbaden and Oldenburg in both the Special and Freestyle.
He was successful as a young stallion by becoming Reserve Champion at his licensing in 2005, and in 2007 becoming Trakehner champion of four-year-old stallions. He was also 2008 reserve World Young Horse Champion and Bundeschampion. In 2009 he became the first vice-world champion in Verden, while the following year in 2010 he was named Bundeschampion in Warendorf. 2011 was the year he moved to Grand Prix with Hubertus Schmidt, with whom he still rides under. Imperio was named Trakehner Stallion of the Year in 2015 and in 2016 became Trakehner Horse of the Year at the Trakehner Stallion licensing.
In 2015 Imperio and Schmidt were effective in their delivery at the Grand Prix Special at the German Championships and gained a nice score of 79.775%. This earned them a place on the German team that was sent to Hagen for the final selection for the 2015 European Championships, before he was honored as a reserve horse at the 2016 Rio Olympics for the German team with his rider, Schmidt. This stallion continues to make a name for himself and the Trakehner breed by showing he is a contender even at highest levels of competition.
