Don Primus is a first-class performance stallion. His bloodlines link him to Grand Prix stallion and champion-maker Don Primero and noble Sandro Hit. It's a winning combination. All of this stallion's basic paces – walk, trot and canter – are equally impressive and he received scores between 8.3 and 9.0 in his 30-day test. Sire Don Primero was Bundeschampion before going on to win several international Grand Prix classes with Karin Rehbein and Falk Rosenbauer. He produced three Bundeschampions, including the 2003 champion of five year old horses, Dynamico/Dorothee Schneider, and 70 of his offspring are successful show jumpers at 1.50 m level. Performance horses sired by Don Primero include Burgpokal trophy winner and World Champion Cherie/Karin Rehbein and Grand Prix winner Dow Jones/Hubertus Schmidt. Maternal grandsire Sandro Hit is a modern day breeding phenomenon. The progeny of the Warendorf-based state owned stallion, Bariton, have collectively won over one million Deutschmarks in prize money. Bariton's sire Blauspecht xx adds thoroughbred blood to the pedigree. The dam line is that of Schwanau, which has produced numerous top-class dressage and show jumping horses. The most famous horse in this line is Galapagos, team gold medal winner at the World Championship in 1982 with Gabriela Grillo and individual bronze medallist at the European Championship in 1981.
