Don Primero has little left to prove in the world of international dressage, nor as a sire of top quality dressage competitors. He has been the world's leading dressage sire for four consecutive years, and earned an incredible 194 index in 2003. Don Primero illustrates the positive nick of Donnerhall on Pik Bube mares to the "nth" degree, and is also following in his sire's footseps as a top level dressage star. In 1990, Don Primero won the German Dressage Horse Championships in Verden, under Heiko Munzmaier, emulating his illustrious sire, Donnerhall. German Olympic Team rider Karin Rehbein then took over saddle duties and trained him up to Grand Prix level. He has also won in-hand and jumping classes. His offspring excel in dressage, but also compete well in advanced showjumping, driving and eventing. Don Primero has three licensed sons: 1999 Bundeschampion Don Larino, Don Duriello and Don Bravio. Don Primero has sired offspring of the highest class with many premium foals. He had six offspring competing in Prix St. George and Intermediare I in 2002, including Young Horse Chamipion, Cherie, and Do Little Z. Current National Young Horse Champions are Dynamico (winner of the five year old dressage horses) and Devils bride. Before that, Don Larino won the National Young Horse Championships and another son, Dimaggio won the World Championships for Young Horses in Arnheim. Cherie, another highly successful Don Primero daughter, who won the World Championships for Young Horses, won the Nürnberger Burgpokal Final easily in 2003 under Karin Rehbein. Don Primero, a surety for dressage breeding and a supplier of high-class foals. In 2005, Don Primero received a Breeding Value Index of 157 points, with an assurance of 98% heritability, from the German Equestrian Federation. |
