Couleur Rubin (Archived)
Couleur Rubin is one of the best examples of performance breeding and one of four licensed sons out of the States Premium and Elite mare, Grannuschka, that are all highly successful in sport.
As a young horse, Couleur Rubin garnered attention early when he was named a Premium Stallion at the 1998 Oldenburg licensing. He received a perfect score of 10 at the 1999 stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf and went on to be the reserve champion of the 5 yr. old jumpers at the 2001 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf after many wins in A, L, and M level classes. In 2002, he was highly placed again at the Bundeschampionate in the 6 yr. old jumper classes and was the VTV Oldenburg Stallion of the Year.
Under the internationally successful rider, Ludger Beerbaum, Couleur Rubin had a great deal of success. In 2010, he won the 2010 CDI4* 1.50 meter Championat der Stadt in Basel, Switzerland, and placed second in the Masters League Final of Frankfurt, third in the Grand Prix of Neumünster, as well as fifth in the Show Jumping World Cup in Leipzig.
The pair had already been together for years and they racked up a tremendous amount of placings such as being 2nd at the 2007 CSIO5* in St. Gallen and having wins in the 2007 Mercedes-Benz Championat von Hamburg, the 2007 Lau Baule, the 2008 Munster CSI3* Preis Der Sparkasse, and double wins in the 2008 Verona Class 5 and Munich Lexus Hybrid Trophy. In 2009, they went on to more wins in Gothenburg and were second in the German National Championships in Munich.
In 2012, he was deservedly retired from sport and is now widely available for breeding. His sire, Cordalme Z also achieved international success under Gilbert Boeckmann and has been praised as an ideal sire for jumpers since the beginning of his career as a sire. In 2000, two of Cordalme Z's offspring participated in the Sydney Olympic Games. Many sons of this high-class chestnut have reached international levels as well.
Numerous offspring of Couleur Rubin, like Cosma Shiva, Clayton Rubin and Cedrik, are internationally successful. Eight of his sons have been licensed including Couletto (seen in video below) who has been winning in international competitions under Simon Delestre of France.
