Chalan

Chalan impresses with the best of type, super elastic motions and exquisite jumping ability. He is one of the first sons of the outstanding young sire Chambertin, who was finals winner at the Federal Showjumping Championship, both as 5 and 6-year old, and Holstein state champion in Bad Segeberg in 1999. The dam Fucera had earlier produced the premium stallion Chateau with the Chambertin sire Cambridge. Her sire Carolus I had international competition sports successes and is one of the leading Holstein performance transmitters nationwide today. A further Holstein foundation sire of type, Calypso I, in the next generation produced predominantly top quality horses for the dressage sport. Damline 4705 moreover produced the approved winners Rocadero and Laurenz as well as the sires Leventos I and II (vice-champions of their respective approvals), Orleandro, Racord (Schwaiganger state stallion)and Ripley K (private stallion Bavaria).

In 2001, Chalan was the unequivocal winner of the 30-day test in Prussendorf, attaining the highest index score both in dressage and in jumping. Then in 2003, he became Holstein state champion with the dream score of 9.5, won federal championship qualification and came fourth in the finals. Chalan was very convincing with his first crop of conspicuously true-to-type, elegant foals with powerful motions and dark coats.
