Carbid is a charming horse with a terrific presence and strong, well-muscled conformation. He has good rideability and outstanding jumping ability with an excellent manner and tremendous talent. He was runner-up of the stallion performance test in 1993. He is a high quality son of the Holsteiner sire Calypso II, who became famous as an excellent producer of outstanding jumping horses. Successful performance genes are also found in the pedigree of Carbid's dam: the sire Graphit counts among the special treasures in the Hanoverian breed. The progeny of Carbid are characterized by excellent jumping abilities and a top rideability. His daughter Carmina Burana was winner of the Federal Mare Show in 1998 and also winner of the Louis-Wiegels-Show in 1999 and the Ratje-Niebuhr Show in 2000 .
