Holstein's Breeding Director, Dr. Thomas Nisse, was full of praise at the 2007 licensing: "A great athlete with a charismatic, masculine expression. He develops enormous power from his hind legs which not only adds spirit to his trot but also allows his extremely elastic canter to cover a lot of ground. These basic prerequisites combined with a perfect sequence at the jump and enormously fast reactions made him the best jumper stallion of all at the licensing event (score 10.0)." Canoso passed his 30-day test in 2008 in Prussendorf and it was a game for him to play out his strengths in jumping for which he received the dream score of 9.50 and was thus he best jumper stallion in the test. His debut in sport in 2009 got off to a promising start: Canoso immediately won and placed in novice (A) level tests for young jumpers. A look at his performance oriented pedigree and you see where the promise comes from: After successfully participating in several Bundeschampionats, his sire Catoki effortlessly went on to advanced show jumping. In his first crop of colts up for licensing, Carrico was licensed and awarded a premium in Holstein and then won his performance test in Redefin. Many other highly esteemed licensed sons have meanwhile been added to his breeding record. For years now Catoki ranks among the best stallions in the FN's predicted breeding value statistics. His dam, High Light, who received a 10 in free jumping at her broodmare performance test, adds highly refined bloodlines to the pedigree through the Thoroughbred sire, Sir Shostakovich xx, who sired sons for the Trakehner (including Donaumonarch, Sir Chamberlain) as well as the Holstein (including the Reserve Champion, Seven Valleys, and Stauffenberg) breed. The granddam, Zaletta, is a State Premium mare by the Holstein licensing winner, Caletto II, whose best daughter, Classic Touch, won the 1992 Olympics with Ludger Beerbaum. After just four years in breeding, several licensed sons were left behind including Caretino, Corleone, Cascadeur, Calvin, Cadillac, Cellebrio, Calgary, Chamonix and Calwahn. The great granddam, Felica, is the dam of the sires Leonardo I and II (by Lord) and Chambertin is also a direct member of this family. Line 18A2 is the origin of more than 60 licensed stallions, including C-Trenton Z, Cheetano, Calvadur, Classiker and Marmor as well a countless international show jumpers such as Arturo jun./Christian Ahlmann, Calle Cool/Carsten-Otto Nagel, Claire 44/Markus Renzel, Cristallo 5/Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst, Mercator 4/Tjark Nagel and Min Jung 2/Peter Hoff.
