Charming Boy, Champion
Stallion of the 2005 Springpferdezuchtverband
Oldenburg-International approval, is a modern Holsteiner
stallion in a noble bay color with good type, outstanding
jumping talent and elastic movements with lots of impulsion. His sire, Contendro, won his stallion
performance test in 2000 in Adelheidsdorf. Charming Boy's
granddam is the dam of a young jumper stallion named Curly
Sue by Caletto who now wins medium level/category B tests.
The granddam, Parabella by Silbersee, was a successful show
jumper herself up to medium level/category A and is also the
granddam of Cherry Pie by Coriano. Caletto I was an
extremely successful, international show jumper under Dr.
Michael Rüping. They were members of the bronze medal
winning German team at the European Championships in
Hickstead in 1983 and Caletto I was the most successful
German horse in Nations Cups that year. They were the
highest winning pair at the CSIO in Geneva and also took
first and other high places in the Grand Prix in Aachen,
Switzerland and Calgary. During his career as a show jumper
he won more than 100,000 DM in prizes – more than any other
German breeding stallion before in those days. Charming
Boy's grandsire, Silbersee, was also internationally
successful under Dr. Michael Rüping, winning World Cups and
Nations Cups. In 1985 they won the German Championships, in
1987 the Derby in Hamburg and also received the "Sport Horse
of the Year" award twice. By the time his career in sport
ended, he had won around 450,000 DM in total. Charming
Boy did an excellent job at his 30 day test in Neustadt/Dosse
and received the fantastic score of 9.38 in the partial
index for jumping with a 10.00 three times (aptitude, manner
and ability) and an 8.25 for rideability. |
