For Romance (Archived)

For Romance is the epitome of a model sire stemming from a very successful Voltaire dam line.   Blessed with three excellent gaits, his canter and trot are exceptional, and his character is also remarkable. He stood out brilliantly in a strong lot of stallions at the 2011 Oldenburg licensing, and the enthusiastic spectators in Vechta gave him standing ovations.

As expected, For Romance won his 30-day test in Schlieckau with super scores. He received a 9.25 for his trot and rideability, a 9.0 for his canter, and an 8.88 for character.

For Romance I OLD booked valuable placings in Grand Prix under Therese Nilshagen/SWE. In 2019, the champion stallion, winner of the main premium, Bundeschampionat qualifier and Burg-Pokal finalist was honored for this as VTV Dressage Stallion of the Year.

His sire Fürst Romancier, who placed fourth at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses and the Bundeschampionat (5yo.) in 2009, sired 35 licensed sons.

In addition to For Romance I OLD, the dam El.St. Gesina produced six more licensed sons, including the full brother and internationally placed For Romance II, the Champion Stallion Feinrich and the State Championship third Don Romance PS OLD (by Dante Weltino OLD). She also produced two Oldenburg Champion Mares: the For Romance I- full sister Fasine OLD (Bundeschampion, P.S.I. Auction price record holder and successful up to Inter II) and Fürstin Gesine. Both also became stallion dams.

The granddam Gesine produced the Mecklenburg Reserve Champion Vivaldi's Schufro, the also licensed Amadeus de l'Aubois and the mare Sadira de Malleret, the dam of Helen Langehanenberg's advanced class winner Zaeta de Malleret.
